Meet Renée

Founder of Closer to Eden, Inc.

I’m a native of New Jersey and a true Jersey girl, but not down by the shore! Haha! I enjoy traveling, attending cultural events as well as listening and dancing to 80’s, 90’s and early to late 2000s music.  On any given day you may find me visiting Atlanta’s latest and greatest spaces curated for foodies and if you see me and feel comfortable say hi.

My friends, family, colleagues and clients know me as an advocate for work-life balance and I’m intentional about making time for me, my hobbies, and my passions. This translates to I have created good boundaries for myself and have taken the time to learn who I am and what I want. I would love to help you to do the same!

“I was the friend in high school who everyone confided in and now it all makes sense.” As I get closer to my life’s work through emotional and spiritual healing, others discover the freedom to do the same.”

Counselor | Educator | Speaker | Strategist

Being an educator has always been innate. My heritage, early childhood years, and life experiences have only deepened my passion and commitment to educating, counseling and advising diverse groups of people.

I enjoy facilitating transformative conversations around social issues and cultural responsiveness.  I’m a sought after speaker and consultant who loves working at the intersection of mental wellness, spiritual health and culture.

Closer to Eden was created to provide counseling, education and consulting services to individuals, organizations, corporations, and communities both domestically and internationally for the purposes of building mental, emotional, spiritual and intellectual capacity in the lives of others. It’s all about restoring the original intent and design of wholeness for humanity and creating the right atmosphere for growth through education and mental health initiatives.

Now for the formalities and interest in my credentials…

I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and also hold a Masters in Education from Mercer University. I am a lifelong Educator, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor (learn more about Nationally Certified Counselors at www.nbcc.org).

Life experiences have given me the scars and necessary healing that allow me to specialize in women’s issues, life transitions, stress management, work-life balance, anxiety, depression, community education, creating safe spaces, grief and loss.  If you name it, it is likely that I have been through it or know someone who has. I would love the opportunity to assist you in walking to the other side towards healing.
